The independent Local Government Boundary Commission England (the Commission) is asking for the help of residents and parishes in drawing up a new pattern of electoral wards in North Northamptonshire. The Commission will be giving more information about the review and answering questions at an online briefing (via Zoom) on Wednesday 14th December at 6pm. We would ask those wishing to attend to register their interest by replying to elections@northnorthants.gov.uk with a subject heading of LGBCE Community Briefing as soon as possible and by no later than 2pm on 13th December 2022. We will send details on how to access the Zoom call to those who have registered to attend. We will aim to send the access information the day before the meeting takes place. The review will also try to create wards that as far as possible reflect the interests and identities of communities across North Northamptonshire. As a new authority, the existing boundaries may not reflect the identity of communities, or provide for effective and convenient local government. Your views about the boundaries are therefore important in ensuring effective governance for North Northamptonshire in future. The Commission would like to hear opinions on: • the number of wards • the names of wards • where the boundaries between wards should lie • the number of councillors for each ward.
